History

During the time of the formation of the Glory Professional Alliance, Wei Chen was asked to start a team under Blue Rain. He became the captain of the team, as well as the first owner of the God-Level Account Swoksaar.

As the scene was progressing, he noticed that his skills were falling apart, so he hoped and tried to prolong it as much as he can. This led to him wishing he was a much younger player.

During a training camp in Season 2, while testing trainees, he lost 3 rounds against Yu Wenzhou who barely managed to get through the rounds, barely surviving. After realizing that he had little hope left in the Alliance, he decided to retire at the end of Season 2. He was offered a coaching position, but refused that as well and left the professional scene.

After smoothly leaving the pro scene, he created the account, Windward Formation, and the Silver Weapon, Death's Hand, which held his dreams and dreams of the Alliance. Prior to his meeting with Ye Xiu, he played in an Internet Cafe with a bunch of players he took under him. With them, he developed a method to increase the amount of skill points his player can get through increasing the chances of getting a skill book drop from a quest.

Plot

Volume 6: Mainstream Tank

After seeing Blue Brook Guild post a 500 Yuan bounty on Lord Grim, he takes his brothers from the internet cafe he plays at and sets up to hunt Lord Grim.

When he and his brothers surround Lord Grim and kill Chasing Haze, he engages in battle with Lord Grim who instantly recognizes the face scan of him. In an attempt to trick Lord Grim, whom he recognizes to be Ye Qiu, he tells him to send him proof that the bounty was rescinded. Thinking Ye Qiu has fallen into his trap, he sends an Assassin to use Life-Risking Strike, but it failed which made Wei Chen roar. After hearing Chen Guo call him despicable, he begins to trash talk Chen Guo. Wei Chen insults Chen Guo’s low skill level and describes her only usefulness as a whore in bed. After the short exchange, Wei Chen's identity is revealed to Chen Guo as the former Blue Rain captain and the first owner of the God-Level Account Swoksaar. After his identity is revealed to Chen Guo, he, again, trash talks Chen Guo, and calls out Ye Xiu for a 1v1.

Wei Chen talks to Ye Xiu to figure out where the sound is coming from. Wei Chen chases after Ye Xiu’s Lord Grim. He sees Ye Xiu use Rotor Wings to dodge a Thief’s traps. Skillfully commanding his troops, Wei Chen has Ye Xiu on the run and calculates where to assign his troops to Ye Xiu's movements. He eventually manages to bring Ye Xiu out, but at that time, Qiao Yifan entered the Heavenly Domain after completing the Heavenly Domain Challenge. Seeing that Ye Xiu had actually called for a helper, Wei Chen roars. He begins to hastily dodge as Qiao Yifan launches one assault after another.

While attempting to dodge Qiao Yifan's attacks, he talks to Qiao Yifan as he recognizes that he has more polished skills than that of an ordinary player. After hearing that Qiao Yifan is from Team Tiny Herb, he tells him that will get him an opportunity to play on stage. Although Qiao Yifan refuses the chance, Wei Chen continues to try and win him. Unfortunately for Wei Chen, he doesn't know that the player playing on the Ghostblade account is Qiao Yifan and not Zhou Yebai. Wei Chen calls out the name for the wrong player, and his lies are further exposed by Ye Xiu who tricks him into saying that there is a gate on the South side. Furious, Wei Chen charges at Ye Xiu, and secretly launches a Warlock skill at him, but Qiao Yifan gets binded instead. Wei Chen attempts to use Control Spell but is rushed by Ye Xiu, so he backs up instead. By this time, his brothers arrive, and the two sides begin to clash.

During this battle, Wei Chen watches Chen Guo’s Chasing Haze unleash a Satellite Beam, a Grenade, and a Stinger to kill several of his comrades. Wei Chen dodges all the skills that Chen Guo sends at him and his brothers' way and jumps over the wall to escape the battle. Wei Chen watches Ye Xiu’s team kill 12 of his teammates and orders four of the healthiest teammates to run. After hearing that the three are headed his way, he tells the four to go distract them for him, and then begins to argue back and forth with Ye Xiu again. He challenges Ye Xiu to a 1v1 but is told to stand still. He spits, and tells Ye Xiu he doesn't trust him. Wei Chen’s Warlock, Windward Formation, calls out that Ye Xiu’s Lord Grim is in Milo Ancient Ruins in global chat.

Wei Chen runs away from Ye Xiu’s team with a plan in mind. He runs towards a dungeon, but his efforts are stopped when Ye Xiu takes control of Chen Guo's character and uses Gatling Gun to force him to dodge. He fails to dodge the Gatling Gun fire from Ye Xiu’s Chasing Haze. Wei Chen sees Ye Xiu’s Lord Grim and Yifan’s One Inch Ash next to him. Seeing that his situation was hopeless, he has Qiao Yifan to return any equipment that he drops, but before Qiao Yifan could kill him, Ye Xiu arrives to attack him. He quickly puts his equipment back on and drinks a potion. His intentions of escaping were seen through Ye Xiu again, and he starts using Warlock spells on him. He tells Ye Xiu that he surrenders and that when he does, he wants his Silver Weapon returned back to him. Wei Chen dies to Ye Xiu’s close-quarters absolute suppression. He loses his Silver Weapon. He begins to curse out loud. Someone calls him out for cursing at Ye Xiu, so he stands up with his brothers. He sits down and sends his brothers away. Wei Chen goes on QQ to message Ye Xiu for the return of his Death’s Hand Silver Weapon.

Ye Xiu replies and asks Wei Chen questions which involve both his plans with the Silver Weapon Death's Hand and his reasons for retiring. Ye Xiu's question asking has Wei Chen think about the past where he lost to Yu Wenzhou multiple times in a 1v1. Wei Chen thinks about his 2 short years in the Glory Pro Alliance, and how he had no choice but to leave due to his deteriorating performance. Wei Chen remembers the dark day that Blue Rain offered him the coaching position, which he turned down. After having the feeling of regret, he asks Ye Xiu what his plans are. Wei Chen hears that Ye Xiu’s goal is to win the Glory Pro Alliance Championship. Wei Chen sees the offer to join Ye Xiu’s future team and accepts. He is told to come to City H, but tells Ye Xiu that he will come to City H when he finishes up his business in City X. The two, afterward, begin discussing various topics within the game, but are soon talking trash to each other.

A few days later, he messages Ye Xiu to meet him at Poison Fang Swamp and tells him to hurry. When the two met, he showed Ye Xiu where the Wild Boss is located at. Wei Chen and Ye Xiu joins Wei Chen’s friends to prepare to steal the Wild Boss, Swamp Hunter Leipu. He sees that the guilds are retreating and is told by Ye Xiu to check the forums. When he hears that they guilds have come to a peaceful solution, he becomes very angry. The two create a plan and get into position while arguing with each other. Wei Chen hears from Ye Xiu to study the surroundings and to look for an opportunity to seize the aggro of the Wild Boss.

Wei Chen learns from Ye Xiu that Misty Castle loses to Herb Garden as well as Tyrannical Ambition losing to Blue Brook Guild. Wei Chen hears from Ye Xiu that Excellent Dynasty defeats Blossom Valley as well as Samsara Guild defeating Void Walk. Out of the gaze of the enemy guilds, Wei Chen works on manipulating monsters in the surrounding area. He learns from Ye Xiu that Samsara Guild defeats Herb Garden as well as Excellent Dynasty defeats Blue Brook Guild. Wei Chen and his comrades drop some insect repellent to corral the venomous flies.

Wei Chen and Ye Xiu execute on the scenario to have the Wild Boss, Swamp Hunter Leipu, attack Wei Chen’s comrades, so they seize the aggro of the Wild Boss to steal it away from the big guilds. He gives his troops ruthless orders of what to do. Wei Chen leads it away while the big guilds are squabbling with one another. Wei Chen and his comrades are extremely busy with pulling the Wild Boss away from the big guilds. Wei Chen shouts at his comrades, Pushing Sea and Big Head, to position themselves properly against Swamp Hunter Leipu. Wei Chen had to be ruthless and precise because his comrades never had experience fighting a Wild Boss. As Swamp Hunter Leipu's health lowered, he receives a message from Ye Xiu telling him to lower his damage output. Wei Chen hears that Ye Xiu’s extortion of Yichun and Three Realms Six Paths does not have enough rare materials for himself, so Wei Chen demands for more rare materials.

The two guild leaders arrived on the scene, and Wei Chen hands the Boss over to them while laughing frantically. He speaks to Changing Spring as he thought they would attempt to fight them, but then asks Changing Spring not to kick him due to Blue Brook's fame and usefulness. He gets kicked out of Blue Brook Guild, which he curses at, and then asks Ye Xiu to show him the items that they received in exchange for the Boss. He is ashamed of Ye Xiu, since he didn't use his list, and tells Ye Xiu what he would've done.

With Ye Xiu, Wei Chen discusses their difficult future in securing Wild Bosses after angering the big guilds. Wei Chen reveals that his comrades’ accounts have about 4700 skill points to Ye Xiu, which is more than an average character’s 4000 skill points. He tells Ye Xiu that he found a method to increase the chances for a skill book. He sends Ye Xiu the document that has all the information regarding increasing the chances for skill books. They both suddenly realize that something is out of place, so Wei Chen tells Ye Xiu to log off first and tells Ye Xiu to wait for him to tell him when to log on. Wei Chen realizes that they are surrounded by the big guilds’ members. He takes his brothers on a rampage where they kill the enemies, and take the equipment that they drop. When the whole group dies, he messages Ye Xiu about the next step. Wei Chen agrees to bring his comrades with him to spy on Samsara Guild when Ye Xiu’s open account cards arrive. The two discuss the promise of Samsara, and think that Samsara will become the Season 8 Champions.

Wei Chen is messaged by Ye Xiu after he reads the document. Wei Chen talks with Ye Xiu about the drop rate of skill books and hears Ye Xiu’s praise for the work. He sends pictures to Ye Xiu of the two days worth of loot that they got from killing the various guild members. The two decide that it is time to break Ye Xiu from the spot that the guilds are watching over. Wei Chen meets Ye Xiu’s Chasing Haze. With his 19 friends, Wei Chen hides and watches Blue Brook Guild, Tyrannical Ambition, Herb Garden, Excellent Dynasty, Misty Castle, Blossom Valley, Howling Heights, and Samsara Guild’s players changing shifts.

Wei Chen talks with Ye Xiu and understands that Lord Grim cannot escape the easy way through the Swamp. Wei Chen agrees to help Ye Xiu fight his way out. Wei Chen and his comrades move out to make room for Ye Xiu to create chaos in the enemy ranks. Wei Chen watches Ye Xiu’s Chasing Haze fire out Heat Seeking Missiles and a Satellite Beam to break up the enemy formation. With his 19 comrades, Wei Chen charges straight into the enemy ranks and unleashes a huge wave of AoE damage on the wounded enemies. Wei Chen watches Ye Xiu's Lord Grim fight his way out and escape. Wei Chen and his 19 comrades fight to the death and loot a lot of dropped equipment from 39 dead opponents.

Later, he messages Ye Xiu about the post that Heavenly Justice had created. He asks Ye Xiu if they are their boss, but Ye Xiu tells him that Chen Guo, the female that he ridiculed the other day, is the boss. This results in Wei Chen cursing, and jokingly telling him that he needs to go, and seek asylum with Heavenly Justice. On the Glory forums, Wei Chen reads the war of words between Heavenly Justice and the big guilds including Blue Brook Guild, Tyrannical Ambition, Herb Garden, Excellent Dynasty, Misty Castle, Blossom Valley, Howling Heights, Samsara Guild, and others. He watches most player support Heavenly Justice against the big guilds. On QQ, Wei Chen talks with Ye Xiu about the rise of Heavenly Justice into the spotlight. Wei Chen asks why Ye Xiu did not send him any Knight accounts and learns that Ye Xiu has a use for the Knight account. He rolls his eyes when Ye Xiu tells him that he kept it so that he can be a tank. Wei Chen learns that Ye Xiu has the Knight account to be used personally for some tank work, which implies that Ye Xiu will be a spy.

During the time that Ye Xiu is scouting Tyrannical Ambition, Wei Chen is spying on Guild Samsara. He leads Samsara during their battle on North Bridge, where they are fighting Mage Mordak. He manages to take the upper hand in the battle for the Wild Boss as Ye Xiu and Zhang Jiale are fighting it out. He has the troops arranged into a proper formation. When Zhang Jiale returned to battle, Wei Che commands his troops. He is targeted by Zhang Jiale, and instead of dying, he chooses to jump into the river before the attacks arrive.

Volume 7: New Champions

Wei Chen learns from Ye Xiu that their housing arrangements are complete for their team. After a few moments of thinking, Wei Chen agrees to move to City H soon. Later, Wei Chen continues his work as a spy in Samsara Guild. At 20:00 on April 1, Wei Chen messages that he will travel to City H tomorrow to Ye Xiu.

In the early evening after the Excellent Era match, Wei Chen arrives at the Happy Internet Cafe. He speaks with the receptionist, who calls for Chen Guo. When he hears Ye Xiu call over to him, and instead of shaking Ye Xiu's hand, he goes over to greet Chen Guo. When Tang Rou arrives, his eyes change from Chen Guo to Tang Rou and goes to greet her. Before he could shake Tang Rou's hand, Bao Rongxing introduces himself and sticks his hand out to Wei Chen. Wei Chen turns around and talks to Ye Xiu about a newspaper that he picked up.

Wei Chen is about to say “Ye Qiu” when he is pulled outside by Ye Xiu. Wei Chen is scolded by Ye Xiu to not use “Ye Qiu” in public, which would cause a huge commotion. Wei Chen learns from Ye Xiu that they will talk more at their Forest Park gaming house. At the gaming home, Wei Chen drops off his stuff in room two. Wei Chen learns that Ye Xiu crushed the morale of Excellent Era’s starting roster with Heavenly Justice’s players and two extra players. Wei Chen goes off topic and trash talks with Ye Xiu until Chen Guo shouts at them to stop. Next, Wei Chen suggests to go back to the Happy Internet Cafe to study and to analyze Excellent Era’s performances. Wei Chen and everyone go back to the Internet cafe and to room 213. Wei Chen watches Ye Xiu start up the computer and open up the VOD folder with recorded matches. Wei Chen praises Ye Xiu for his close studying of Excellent Era. Wei Chen declares that the glorious Ye Xiu will analyze the match for everyone.

After they watched the first two rounds against Thunderclap, Wei Chen has his hands on his forehead. After watching Excellent Era’s shambolic individual and group competitions, Wei Chen holds his hands to his head and claims that Ye Xiu has committed sins to cause Excellent Era’s decline. After watching Excellent Era’s horrible team competition, Wei Chen has Ye Xiu pull up the post-match statistics. Wei Chen is horrified and jokes that he is going to puke. When Bao Rongxing brings over a bucket, Wei Chen is angry. Next, Wei Chen watches a recording of Excellent Era’s match against Samsara. He watches an okay individual competition performance by Excellent Era and praises Liu Hao’s 1v1 victory. With Excellent Era’s horrible group competition, Wei Chen accepts Zhou Zekai’s strength to sweep the field in a 1v3. Wei Chen observes Excellent Era’s horrible team competition. With Ye Xiu playing the other Excellent Era match recordings, Wei Chen takes out a notebook and writes notes. Wei Chen explains to Chen Guo that Excellent Era’s previous form disintegrated with Sun Xiang’s erratic gameplay compared to Liu Hao, who recovers from Ye Xiu’s beating in-game to perform better in Excellent Era’s match against Samsara. Wei Chen reveals that the other Excellent Era players, who were crushed by Ye Xiu, cannot recover their morale and skill level. Wei Chen hears Ye Xiu explain Liu Hao’s moments of brilliance in matches means that he has given up on Excellent Era in order to secure a better future elsewhere.

Wei Chen listens to Ye Xiu explain that Sun Xiang’s removal from play is to protect him from blame of relegation as well as showing Excellent Era’s true strength without Sun Xiang if they escape relegation. After finishing their discussions, Wei Chen and his teammates go back to the gaming house to rest for the night. In the morning, Wei Chen is annoyed by Bao Rongxing’s lack of respect. With Rongxing, Wei Chen enters room 213. Wei Chen is interested in Tang Rou’s Battle Mage skill. Wei Chen hears Rongxing’s challenge to duel in Glory and logs on to Glory. Wei Chen is furious when he sees that Rongxing’s Steamed Bun Invasion is only a level 61 character on the 10th Server.

In the first duel against Bao Rongxing, Wei Chen crushes him. Wei Chen is satisfied with his performance and is surprised that Rongxing wants to duel again. After the following duels, Wei Chen obliterates Rongxing, 8-0. Wei Chen laughs wildly, which causes Chen Guo to enter to room to see the situation. Wei Chen tells Ye Xiu that Rongxing is a decent player for only playing four months. On QQ, Wei Chen reveals to Ye Xiu that he almost lost a duel to Rongxing for being careless. Wei Chen believes that Rongxing’s chaotic style of play can be nurtured with better fundamentals and game knowledge to be an extremely dangerous player. Wei Chen thinks that Rongxing can be a successor to Lord Grim, which Ye Xiu agrees, but the designers of Glory will increase the level cap to end the viability of the Unspecialized class. Wei Chen wonders how good Tang Rou is. In the first duel, Wei Chen wins easily. On QQ, Wei Chen is warned by Ye Xiu to stop dueling Tang Rou. For the second duel, Wei Chen defeats Tang Rou again. Wei Chen wins the third and fourth duels. In the fifth duel, he loses to Tang Rou and claims to not lose on purpose. On QQ, Wei Chen admits to Ye Xiu that he intentionally lost the last duel because his hands were about to cramp. Wei Chen is horrified at Tang Rou’s growing ferocity with continued dueling. Wei Chen claims that Ye Xiu is the luckiest player in Glory to find two extremely high potential players in Tang Rou and Bao Rongxing. Wei Chen jokes that Ye Xiu has to return to the Glory Pro Alliance to win the championship. He talks to Ye Xiu about the other members of the team but feels disappointed when he hears that they are not Bao Rongxing and Tang Rou's level.

During the Qingming Festival, Wei Chen continued his work as a spy in Samsara Guild. On the second floor, Wei Chen is smoking when Chen Guo arrives and orders him to stop. Wei Chen ignores her and walks into room 213 to play Glory. He becomes astonished when she tells him no smoking, and, to smoke, he needs to go into the room or to the smoking area. He looks at Ye Xiu, who also smokes, and asks how did he manage to survive. Chen Guo asks him if the clubs allowed him to smoke in the practice room and he answers that they usually didn't, but he was the captain and hands a cigar over to Ye Xiu. He is lectured by Chen Guo and retaliates, by saying that he began smoking as a minor. He asks Steamed Bun, if he smokes, but denies him the opportunity, with Ye Xiu, to smoke as it'd be a waste of a smoke.

At Happy Internet Cafe, Wei Chen sees the renovated second floor gaming room. He agrees with Ye Xiu that it’s too bright because of the huge window. Wei Chen turns on his computer and cannot see the screen. He hears Ye Xiu’s recommendation of hanging a curtain. With everyone, Wei Chen helps set up a curtain. He goes back to his computer. With Chen Guo turning on the bright crystal lamps, Wei Chen flails his hands in the air with his keyboard and mouse. Later, he is satisfied with the lights shut off. Wei Chen hears Ye Xiu mention the projector that Chen Guo has installed in the practice room. Wei Chen is thrilled to not have to deal with the uneducated Glory players in the Internet cafe because he argued against a customer’s nonsense commentary about a Glory Pro Alliance match. Wei Chen oppose Rongxing’s desire to watch Pro Alliance matches with the misinformed Glory players. Wei Chen does not argue because he knows that Rongxing’s process of thinking is simple and unrefined. Wei Chen goes back to playing Glory as a spy in Samsara. He moves up in Samsara and slowly integrates his gang of brothers into the guild. Wei Chen relies on his brothers, who are highly competent normal players as a result of his guidance. Wei Chen receives a personal message from the Samsara Guild Leader Three Realms Six Paths. Wei Chen curses when he sees an invitation to become a team leader for Samsara Guild. At the moment, Wei Chen has a few friends integrated into Samsara and needs more of personal manpower to be ready for the next stage of his plot.

He is asked by Three Realms Six Paths to lead the team through the dungeon Eternal Life Spring which has something that he needs. He is told, by Ye Xiu, to not be too shameless. He suddenly gets the idea that he should have made a smurf, climbed to the top of the team, get the items, and run. Ye Xiu disagrees with Wei Chen's plan, saying that it would take too much effort. After he hears Ye Xiu's idea of killing the group leader, he reminds Ye Xiu that this was a plan from before. The two are called out by Chen Guo who asks if they were serious about their idea. They claim that they were joking, and when Chen Guo leaves, he turns to Ye Xiu and comments on how sensitive women are. Even without Ye Xiu’s support, Wei Chen wants to continue plotting, but he gives up because Chen Guo is his boss.

At the end of April, the team is looking at the standings. He looks strangely at Chen Guo who vented at Excellent Era blaming Ye Xiu for their possible relegation. He retorts at her saying if Ye Xiu had not wiped them out in-game, they wouldn't be close to being relegated. The two argue for a bit before they are stopped by Ye Xiu who takes the blame and steps out of the room. The two look at each other since the scene seemed similar. On May 13, Wei Chen sees the official relegation of Excellent Era in Season 8. He learns that Blue Rain, Samsara, Tiny Herb, Tyranny, Misty Rain, Void, 301, and Thunderclap are in the playoffs.

For the next two days, Wei Chen jokes about the possibility of facing Excellent Era in the first round of Challengers League, which angers Ye Xiu. He asks Ye Xiu if he thinks Excellent Era will try to pull a dirty trick by using their connections to face Happy in the first round. Wei Chen realizes that they lack the professional manpower and Silver equipment to fight against a well-equipped and experienced Excellent Era team. Wei Chen justifies himself for his thinking by saying that Excellent Era probably see him as a challenge as well, and they know of the team's circumstance. Wei Chen, intentionally, speaks of these possibilities to numb himself from them, should they occur. He can be seen of how nervous he is and awaits for Ye Xiu to give him an answer. He hears Ye Xiu say that he doesn't know and responds that he should make a prediction based on his understanding of Excellent Era's owner. He sees Ye Xiu click on a someone's name on QQ, and curses at Ye Xiu when he hears that he is talking to Excellent Era's owner, Tao Xuan. He stares at the screen with wide open eyes as he waits for Tao Xuan to reply to Ye Xiu's message. As the reply hadn't come back yet, Wei Chen and Ye Xiu start arguing with one another. When Tao Xuan finally replies, Wei Chen sees Ye Xiu's retort and calls everyone over afterward to see how shameless Ye Xiu is. He starts fuming as he sees the conservation between the two pointless. After hearing that Tao Xuan won't try to bend the rules, he starts cursing at Ye Xiu for a bit. He starts to think of the possibility that they will run into Excellent Era in the first round. He tells everyone to return to practice and returns to his seat. The training room is quiet, then Wei Chen suddenly asks Chen Guo if she will object if they go rob the elite group leaders. He begins to mutter about how great that everyone has their principles after hearing Chen Guo's reply. Wei Chen goes back to playing Glory as a spy at Samsara Guild. Wei Chen shouts at his Samsara Guild teammates to improve their performance in the Eternal Springs dungeon.

Wei Chen hears that Luo Ji's professor has gotten involved with the guide, and asks Ye Xiu what is the point of him asking anything about universities. Wei Chen learns from Tang Rou that Zhang Yichun is a world-class mathematician, who is known for several breakthroughs in several fields of mathematics. After hearing Ye Xiu's analogy, he asks if Ye Xiu has seen a pig run around in a university. Wei Chen learns that as a teenager Luo Ji won many mathematics competitions. Wei Chen finds out that Luo Ji entered university at the age of seventeen without the required examinations. Wei Chen learns learns next year Luo Ji will be a graduate student, who will be working toward a Master’s Degree and PhD. Wei Chen wonders if China is going be hurt to lose a scholarly talent like Luo Ji to gaming. Wei Chen looks at Luo Ji’s mathematical research. Wei Chen does not understand the high-level math and jargon. Wei Chen asks if they should buy some books, and after hearing Ye Xiu's question, he sarcastically retorts that they should buy language books. Later, Wei Chen looks at a simplified version of the research, which has all of the logical relationships between the triggering requirements for dropping skill books. Wei Chen realizes that with Luo Ji’s polishing of Wei Chen’s research this guide has reached the peak of investigating the inner workings Glory’s systems.

Luo Ji sends over an understanding version to them, he comes over to see his experience and intuition turn into hard data. After seeing it, he tells Ye Xiu to try it who tells everyone else to try it. After a bit of time, he becomes concerned about the results, so he walks around and checks-in with everyone. He walks over to Tang Rou, who is about to complete one of the quests and possibly get a skill book drop. At first, he thinks that they made a mistake, but after hearing what Ye Xiu said, he asks if there are any guaranteed drops that they can try. When Bao Rongxing reaches the final step, he couldn't look, and when Bao Rongxing completes the quest, he became gloomy after hearing that he didn't get a skill book. He goes out to smoke, after being told by Ye Xiu that he needs to go over to Excellent Era and break their windows, to calm down from his worrying.

While he is smoking, he is seen staring at the Excellent Era logo, by Ye Xiu. He asks Ye Xiu what should he do because he is nervous due to their opponents being Excellent Era. He continues forward to say that the current him, cannot compare to the young Wei Chen. Wei Chen hears that Ye Xiu is by his side and will lead the fight to crush Excellent Era. Wei Chen attempts to calm down by saying some encouraging words, and suddenly hears Chen Guo yell that they got a drop. After hearing that both Tang Rou and Bao Rongxing got a drop, he rushes into the drop while complimenting Luo Ji. He and Ye Xiu discuss, for a bit, about Wei Chen's success rate prior from their chances due to Luo Ji, and the amount of skill points that they can get, in total, which is 1,650. Ye Xiu asks Wei Chen how many skill points Windward Formation has and replies that the account has 4920, which is the most in the whole game at the time.

Wei Chen hears that Ye Xiu wins a 20-point skill book drop. Wei Chen realizes that his optimized skill book drop methods could be a business opportunity to make money. Wei Chen suggests to everyone that he can conquer the accounts market with his extremely high skill point accounts. He hears Ye Xiu mention that the game company will change the programming code once they realize Wei Chen is exploiting skill book drop chances. Wei Chen thinks about whether he wants to continue building Happy or building a business to sell high skill point accounts. After some time of thinking, he lets go of the idea of going into the account business and continues on the pursuit to the pro scene. He tells Ye Xiu that they better win the championships; otherwise, he wants Ye Xiu to compensate him for his business losses. He comes to the realization that selling the guide, is the choice after hearing Ye Xiu suggest it. He suggests selling it to Samsara but Ye Xiu suggests Loulan Slash instead. He tells Ye Xiu to quickly contact him. After seeing Loulan Slash's reply, he accuses Ye Xiu of changing Loulan Slash's way of thinking. Wei Chen sees Ye Xiu’s Lord Grim reach 5000 skill points. Wei Chen learns that Ye Xiu will reduce the amount of skill point quests from the version of the guide to sell to Samsara. Wei Chen sees Ye Xiu prepare a 1000-skill point guide to sell to Samsara.

A few days later at the Happy Internet Cafe, Wei Chen sees Ye Xiu’s return from Samsara Headquarters and asks how much money did he get for the skill books guide. Wei Chen grows angry when Ye Xiu sits down and drinks water to stall. Ye Xiu tells him that he got 2 million worth of materials which made him make a disgusted face. He felt unhappy about the results but only let out a sigh. When he heard that they were going to also pay 6 million in advance, he becomes excited again. He then realizes that there's more money coming, and to see more definite proof, he grabs the documents out of Ye Xiu's hands and reads the clauses. When he saw the verified numbers, his eyes sparkled and he curses in happiness. He contacts Luo Ji and tells him that the guide sold for 20 million. He tries to give at least 1% to Luo Ji, but he doesn't budge. After hearing what Luo Ji's professor, Professor Zhang, said, he attempts to study his words, for a better understanding.

Wei Chen tells everyone that they need to improve their characters’ equipment and wants wild boss materials, which are rare due to the rare material monopolization of professional clubs. He hears Ye Xiu advise Tang Rou and Bao Rongxing to finish the Heavenly Domain quests as soon as possible. Wei Chen thinks that Samsara might pull a trick on Ye Xiu. Wei Chen hears Ye Xiu’s agreement that Samsara might get the game company to patch the game to end their skill book drop exploit. He sees Tang Rou’s Soft Mist reach 5000 skill points. Wei Chen wants to get a Warlock account with 5000 skill points.

Wei Chen listens to Ye Xiu’s QQ chat with An Wenyi. Wei Chen hears that Wenyi is hesitant to send his Little Cold Hands account to Ye Xiu. Wei Chen shouts that he can offer 2000 RMB as collateral for borrowing Wenyi’s account card. He is angered when Wenyi has the boldness to accept the money. Wei Chen reluctantly accepts and tells Wenyi to check his bank account tomorrow. Away from the computer, Wei Chen reveals to Ye Xiu that he does not like An Wenyi. Later, Wei Chen learns that Blue Rain, Samsara, Tiny Herb, Tyranny, Misty Rain, Void, Thunderclap, and 301 Degrees enter the playoffs. The first round of matches have Blue Rain vs. 301 Degrees, Thunderclap host Samsara, Tiny Herb vs. Void, and Tyranny vs. Misty Rain. On the first day of playoffs, Wei Chen sees Blue Rain host 301 Degrees, where Blue Rain obliterates 301 Degrees. On the second day, Wei Chen watches Samsara vs. Thunderclap, where Samsara’s improved characters via Ye Xiu’s skill book guide annihilate Thunderclap. On the third day, Wei Chen observes Void host Tiny Herb, where Void struggles to a draw against Tiny Herb. On the fourth day, Wei Chen watches Misty Rain host Tyranny, where Misty Rain manages to grind out a victory against Tyranny.

Wei Chen is surprised that Ye Xiu thinks Han Wenqing is performing poorly. Wei Chen hears Ye Xiu claim that Han Wenqing is playing differently, which causes Ye Xiu to point to a poor performance. Wei Chen sees Ye Xiu go to his computer to study Han Wenqing’s Desert Smoke and watches over Ye Xiu’s shoulder. Wei Chen learns from Ye Xiu that Wenqing is changing his habits and Striker movements to research for a new style of play. Wei Chen listens to Ye Xiu point out the small details in Han Wenqing’s style change. After listening to Ye Xiu’s analysis of multiple segments, Wei Chen understands the general changes in Wenqing’s different gameplay. Wei Chen suggests to Ye Xiu to teach Tang Rou and Bao Rongxing about Strikers.

Wei Chen agrees to help Ye Xiu teach the other classes to Tang Rou and Bao Rongxing by buying a set of accounts. On the fifth day of playoffs, Wei Chen watches Samsara host Thunderclap, where Samsara crushes Thunderclap. Wei Chen watches Jiang Botao reveal to the journalists that Samsara’s characters have improved skill points without any exact numbers. Wei Chen learns that Xiao Shiqin is planning to transfer out of the Thunderclap. Wei Chen wonders where Shiqin will go. Wei Chen is furious when he hears from Ye Xiu that Shiqin will go to Excellent Era.

Wei Chen hears Ye Xiu’s joke about Wei Chen’s millions of RMB for retirement if they lose to Excellent Era in Challengers League. Wei Chen reads the news on Glory, which explodes with Xiao Shiqin’s admission of leaving Thunderclap. Wei Chen sees more of the news and grows angry. He shouts at Bao Rongxing to level up faster. Later, Wei Chen continues his spy work at Samsara Guild. He shouts furiously at his teammates. On the sixth day, Blue Rain defeats 301 Degrees on the second leg of their playoff match-up. On the seventh day, Tiny Herb defeats Void on the second leg of their playoffs match-up. On the eighth day, Misty Rain defeats Tyranny on the second leg of their playoffs match-up. Wei Chen learns that Samsara, Blue Rain, Tiny Herb, and Misty Rain are the remaining teams in playoffs. He looks at the Glory forums, where Tyranny fans opposed the media’s portrayal of Tyranny’s surprising defeat in the first round of playoffs. With Ye Xiu reporting that they have An Wenyi’s Little Cold Hands account card, Wei Chen orders An Wenyi to give back some of the 2000 RMB, which Wenyi refuses. Wei Chen learns that Wenyi considers the 2000 RMB payment from Wei Chen as a purchase of the Little Cold Hands account.

Wei Chen hears Ye Xiu’s lecture about their accounts will be given to the team. Wei Chen thinks about the situation and agrees to give his account to the team. He listens to Tang Rou agree to give her account to the team. Wei Chen hears Bao Rongxing agree to give his account over to the team. Wei Chen hears Ye Xiu mention that they need players and accounts for Challenger League. He curses when he learns from Ye Xiu that Little Cold Hands has 4925 skill points, which is 5 more points than his Windward Formation. On group chat, Wei Chen tells An Wenyi to work hard due to Little Cold Hands’ 4925 skill points. The next day, Wei Chen watches the press conference on Misty Rain and Blue Rain’s semifinal match. Wei Chen watches Samsara narrowly defeat Tiny Herb through Zhou Zekai’s amazing performance. Next, Wei Chen watches Blue Rain defeat Misty Rain in their first match-up. In the second semifinal match between Samsara and Tiny Herb, Wei Chen watches Samsara win and claim a spot in the finals. Wei Chen follows the second semifinal match, where Blue Rain defeats Misty Rain again to claim a spot in the finals. Wei Chen learns of the finals match-up between Samsara and Blue Rain.

A few days before the finals, whenever Wei Chen logged on, he is contacted by the guild leader to go to a location and participate in an intense battle against the other guilds. As a Samsara spy, Wei Chen works every day for Guild Leader Three Realms Six Paths because the Samsara vs. Blue Rain finals match nears. Wei Chen is promoted by Three Realms Six Paths and other leaders into the second elite group leader of Samsara Guild. He turns to Ye Xiu and asks him what should he do. He mentions that he can't give any unreasonable, or questionable, commands nor get any of his people into the group. Ye Xiu mentions that he will be coordinating with Ye Xiu and his helpers, but when he sees them, he is left a bit speechless. When Ye Xiu also mentions Chen Guo as part of his helpers, he doesn't give her any face and says that she sucks. Wei Chen and Ye Xiu begin discussing Wild Bosses after his remark to Chen Guo. When Wei Chen hears that Ye Xiu will be collaborating with Heavenly Justice, he comments that his answer is an unsurprising one. Wei Chen comments on how he expects Ye Xiu to collaborate with Heavenly Justice because most of the large guilds hate Ye Xiu for his chaotic reign of dominance on the 10th Server.

Wei Chen sees the global message of Heavenly Justice killing Sewer King Lookashoo. He sees Ye Xiu’s message with Lou Guanning’s list of the possible wild bosses, who could spawn this week. For the rest of the day, he hears no new wild bosses spawn. With Ye Xiu, Wei Chen discusses about his mixed support for Blue Rain after selling his skill books guide to Samsara. Wei Chen hears Ye Xiu’s call to clear a 5-person Level 70 dungeon. Wei Chen joins Ye Xiu, Tang Rou, and Bao Rongxing to clear a 5-person Level 70 dungeon. Wei Chen does not like that they have no Cleric to save him if the enemy AI manage to hit him. Wei Chen shouts at his teammates in the frantic dungeon clearing. Wei Chen asks Ye Xiu to stop dungeoning and to watch the Season 8 finals team competition. With Ye Xiu’s approval, Wei Chen stops everything to watch Samsara vs. Blue Rain’s team competition on the “Grass Blowing in the Wind” map.

Volume 10: Four Guild Alliance

On the day of the finals, he sees that Ye Xiu is still playing the game, and asks if he is not going to watch the finals. After hearing Ye Xiu's reason, he refutes that as the former captain of Blue Rain, he should support his mother team. He slaps his forehead when Ye Xiu points out that he helps sell an advantage to the opponents of his mother team. He joins Ye Xiu in a 5-man level 70 dungeon but complains that the group doesn't have a Cleric, so he would need to be extra careful during the dungeon.

During the dungeon, he becomes angry that they are running it for equipment and says it is a waste of their time. He asks Tang Rou and Bao Rongxing if they will tell Chen Guo that they went to kill random players for equipment, for them. He asks Ye Xiu what equipment he needs when he hears that Ye Xiu needs a piece from the dungeon. He understands the circumstances when Ye Xiu says that he needs the Rising Wind Pendant; thus, not commenting further.

It was time for the team competition, in the first part of the finals, so Wei Chen asks if they're going to watch the match or continue to the dungeon. After he hears Ye Xiu's reply, he lets go of his mouse and watches the broadcast. As they watch the finals, Wei Chen self-praises himself, for discovering Huang Shaotian, when Huang Shaotian produces 7 shadows while fighting Zhou Zekai.

On day 1 of the finals, Wei Chen curses, with an ugly expression, when he sees Swoksaar face up against Empty Waves. Ye Xiu tells him that he needs to overcome his psychological trauma, and tells everyone that Wei Chen was beaten by a child in his teens. Wei Chen retorts that he only lost to allow the future generation to gain confidence and the ability to mature. Ye Xiu hits back at Wei Chen by saying that he was talking about himself when he beat him during playoffs. Wei Chen retorts that he allowed Ye Xiu because, with the way Ye Xiu looked, he did society a favor by letting him win. 

After the match, Wei Chen returns to the game, with his hands and mind focusing, but his heart not being into the game. Loulan Slash messages Ye Xiu that a Wild Boss has spawned, so Ye Xiu asks Wei Chen if Samsara has gotten any messages about the Boss spawning. He checks the guild chat but sees nothing. After a bit, he receives a message, but it is a call to go PK. He says he'll go, and takes his character over to the world war. 

Chen Guo comes to the practice to see Ye Xiu, Tang Rou and Bao Rongxing not doing anything, while Wei Chen is shouting. Wherever the battle is intense and cruel, Wei Chen has to be there. He is called out to, by Ye Xiu, and is asked his location. He glances at Ye Xiu, dizzy, and looks back at the game, fully focused. He tells Ye Xiu to check his location himself. After a few minutes, he asks Ye Xiu what is he going to do when he comes to his location. When he hears Ye Xiu's reason, he asks him what there is to pick up, but after hearing Ye Xiu's reason, he doesn't dispute it. After capturing 4 Wild Bosses, everyone goes to bed but Wei Chen.

The next morning, his posture, from the previous day, has not changed. He tells Ye Xiu that the world war is a huge waste of time. He takes a short smoke break, and with fatigue visible on his face, he goes to sleep. He returns to the practice room, in the afternoon, and curses loudly when he receives a message that he is needed on the battlefield. He quickly dives straight into battle. 

On day 2 of the finals, they watch as Blue Rain lose to Samsara. After watching Yu Wenzhou's press conference, Ye Xiu turns to Wei Chen and tells him that it is a good thing that he was replaced by Yu Wenzhou; otherwise, the whole team would be showing their middle finger to Samsara after the loss. He weakly replies to Ye Xiu's comment. Although he looks calm, he is unhappy that Blue Rain lost to Samsara. 

During their time scrap picking, Wei Chen tells Ye Xiu that a big battle is about to happen with Samsara and Blue Rain. He tells Ye Xiu he doesn't know the details but tells him to ask Blue Brook Guild since he can. Ye Xiu and Wei Chen continue to analyze the situation and make predictions based on the strength of each of the guilds. Wei Chen curses and asks what is happening, as he awaits orders from the higher-ups. He takes a smoke, from Ye Xiu who tells him to turn his camera to point at Not White. Wei Chen asks Ye Xiu whom Not White is. Wei Chen is told that he is Deception, so he goes to check him out. He orders the second elite team to surround Not White and attack him. 

A few minutes later, Wei Chen sighs and says that Deception does have skills and that he almost escaped. When Ye Xiu sees the number of people around Not White's corpse, Wei Chen explains himself, as if what he did was proper. 

Volume 11: Challenge

On the day of Xiao Shiqin's arrive at Excellent Era, Wei Chen is walking with Bao Rongxing when he sees Liu Hao, Ye Xiu, and Tang Rou. He walks past Liu Hao, but backs up and asks if he's Liu Gao from Excellent Era. He starts muttering to himself, when Ye Xiu tells him that the name is Hao, not Gao, making it seem as if Hao is wrong. He is told by Ye Xiu not to bother him since he has to get on the Route 9 bus. When the Route 9 bus arrives, he pats Liu Hao on the shoulder and tells him that he should hurry since the bus is here. They enter the cafe after seeing Liu Hao call for a taxi, and Wei Chen grabs a stool and asks if the idiot, Xiao Shiqin, is arriving. They go to the second floor shortly after and log into the game. When Xiao Shiqin arrives at Excellent Era, he and Chen Guo have unhappy expressions. He, secretly, verbally attacks Xiao Shiqin, who was enjoying his welcoming, and challenges Xiao Shiqin, if he can smile next season.

When Tao Xuan, Sun Xiang, and Xiao Shiqin come to Happy Internet Cafe, he stands up to greet him. He introduces himself as Wei Chen and is recognized, by Xiao Shiqin, as Blue Rain's former captain. He feels famous, and happy when he is recognized by him, but his mood becomes sour when Sun Xiang asks who Wei Chen is. He looks at Sun Xiang and insults him that he wouldn't know him because, at that time, he was still playing with his JJ1. To cover up Sun Xiang's terrible reply to Wei Chen, he introduces himself to Wei Chen, who did not remember how Tao Xuan looked. Wei Chen asks Tao Xuan when Excellent Era will disband since they've been relegated. Before Tao Xuan replies to Wei Chen, Wei Chen asks Xiao Shiqin why is he so stupid to join a team that is sinking. Tao Xuan attempts to refute back, by mentioning Wei Chen's retirement, but Wei Chen tells him that his return will spell disaster for them, and tells Ye Xiu when the time comes, he better not stop him from eliminating Excellent Era.

During this time, Qiao Yifan arrives and goes to greet him since he has a good impression of him. He goes downstairs, and hears Qiao Yifan say, "Senior", so he extends his hand out to Qiao Yifan and tells him that he is very polite. When he hears, "Hi Senior", instead of "who's that", from Qiao Yifan, he pats him on the back and tells him he has a bright future ahead of him. He reiterates that Qiao Yifan has a bright future when Qiao Yifan, accidentally exposes Sun Xiang and Xiao Shiqin, who were in disguise. While Chen Guo and Tao Xuan were bickering, he and Ye Xiu were talking to the side, without a care of the situation.

The next morning, Qiao Yifan gasps at Wei Chen, who, as a spy, became Samsara second elite group leader. He waves his hands at Qiao Yifan telling him that he is flattering him. He hears news from Ye Xiu, that they have enough material to upgrade his Death's Hand. He looks puzzled at first and hesitates when he is asked if he is sure there won't be any issues with his blueprint. Like Ye Xiu, he couldn't find a problem with the blueprint, so they decide to do it, and Wei Chen tells Ye Xiu that he will upgrade it himself. He logs into Windward Formation, takes the materials, and opens the equipment editor. He spits in his hands, for good luck, and begins to edit. After completing the first part, he wipes his head as a way to loosen up. He receives praise from Ye Xiu but yells at him to shut up, and for everyone not to watch. When he sees that everyone returned to their seats, he begins working on the next part. After wiping his head, for the fourth time, he finishes editing the crucial parts for Death's Hand. He, quickly, puts the individual parts in, and clicks confirm while announcing that he is done. He exits the equipment editor and looks at Ye Xiu before looking at Death's Hand's stats. When he sees the improved stats, he roars that is was a success while slamming his fists on the desk. He laughs hysterically because the upgrade is a success, on the first attempt. He wipes away sweat when Chen Guo asks him if he is going to try out the weapon and see if it will break, but then hears Ye Xiu telling Chen Guo that is only the case for the Myriad Manifestation Umbrella. He goes to the arena to test it out against someone, and when the two fought, Wei Chen's opponent only looked like a test dummy. During his battle, he keeps excitedly chatting, and bullies his opponent, happily.

They receive news that Red Mage Mierworr has spawned, and Wei Chen has a grave expression on his face. He turns his head and tells Ye Xiu that they will be needing this Wild Boss. He tells Ye Xiu to not hold back as this Wild Boss has material that can be used to upgrade his Death's Hand. He tells Ye Xiu that he doesn't need him to tell him to provide him with help while using Samara's elite teams; additionally, he tells him that he will find a way to deal with Zhang Xinjie.

Samsara arrives during the battle, and Wei Chen, after analyzing the battlefield, tells Three Paths Six Realms that this was their chance. He tells Three Paths Six Realms that Tyrannical Ambition is on the defensive, and if they attacked, they can break through and lead the boss away. Although he holds back in his speech, the members of Samsara still doubt him, so he continues to attempt to convince them with an overconfident attitude. He tells them that something must have happened for Tyrannical Ambition to be on the defensive, and tells them that they need to act quickly since Zhang Xinjie is trying to stall for time so that they can build enough aggro. He mentions that they are a championship winning guild which instantly struck Three Paths Six Realms into attacking mode. He tells Three Paths Six Realms that he will lead the second elite group to break through Tyrannical Ambition's defenses while the first group attempts to lead the boss away. After a bit of a clash, he messages Three Paths Six Realms to have the mid and long-range classes coordinate with the second elite team. As Zhang Xinjie continues to adjust his formation, so does Wei Chen. Samsara eventually couldn't hold out anymore, so Wei Chen consoles Three Paths Six Realms, who was blaming himself. He tells him that the Battle Mage with the disgusting name must be Ye Xiu and the Launcher is Su Mucheng. He keeps sounding annoyed while mentioning that they will see who is arrogant when one of their pro players comes to play. Three Paths Six Realms notices that the two sides, the Four Guild Alliance and Tyrannical Ambition, are in a deadlock, so he asks Wei Chen if there is an opportunity for them to join in. He gives Three Paths Six Realms an incomplete analysis of the situation.

His mind wanders about upgrading Death's Hand to level 70 while Samsara awaits an opportunity. He takes his headphones off and tells Ye Xiu to hurry up and kill the Boss as he wanted to upgrade it already. He warns Ye Xiu of Blue Brook Guild who just began to act. He roars at Ye Xiu to stop playing around with Lu Hanwen and then puts his headphones and tells Three Realms Six Paths not to be rash while waiting to see what Blue Brook Guild will do before they act. He keeps exaggerating the strength of the two Gods. After Blue Brook Guild fails, he discusses the scene with Three Realms Six Paths.

After the System Announcement comes up, Wei Chen roars and complains in-game, while joyfully going to look at Ye Xiu's screen for the drops. He sees that both items, Red Mage's Staff and Heart of Desire, have dropped. He is asked by Ye Xiu if he will upgrade Death's Hand now but tells him that he will in a bit, while he goes to smoke first. He quietly gets up and leaves the practice room. He begins to think of many things, such as why had he clung to the Death's Hand for so long. His tries to think of a reason, but ends up feeling disgusted by his thoughts.

After a while, he returns to the practice room with a cigarette in his mouth and a smug face. He replies to Chen Guo, saying that the upgrade was a success. He threw his account card onto the table, as if he is the boss, and tells them to take a look. When Ye Xiu comments on the Death's Door +1 stat, he tells Ye Xiu, with disdain, that he doesn't know anything, and tells him that Death's Door purpose is to create an opportunity. He tells Ye Xiu's opportunities are created, so Ye Xiu comments that he is a classic example of the style that Blue Rain play. He asks Ye Xiu where he would put the skill point into, but when he hears another mage skill, he tells him that Teleport doesn't suit him. He suddenly freezes and lets out an astonished expression. He asks Ye Xiu if he can add a skill point to each of the Myriad Manifestation Umbrella's transformation, and how many transformations does it have. He doesn't really know what to say at first, but then tells Ye Xiu to research the weapon well so that he can use every skill in the game. He takes his account card back and goes to the Arena to bully people.

The next day, they hear that Lin Jingyan has transferred to Tyranny. He asks Ye Xiu of his thoughts about this matter and becomes surprised when he hears that this transfer is troublesome for them. He sighs after understanding that Lin Jingyan could come and participate in the battle for Wild Bosses.

On one of the nights, a total of eight Wild Bosses spawned, and Wei Chen manipulates Samsara into helping the Four Guild Alliance, effectively. Wei Chen consoles them every time, using excuses like their opponent is Ye Qiu. The failure to seize the Bosses lead to discord between Samsara's first and second elite group and Wei Chen steps in to resolve the dispute. He turns to Ye Xiu and asks him that one-day Samsara may view him as their ruler, and attempt to sign him as their guild leader, what should he do. After hearing Ye Xiu's reply, which was to empty their guild storage and run, he asks Ye Xiu won't they call the police. As Ye Xiu starts going to bed, he yells at Ye Xiu that he already has a huge apartment, but decides to sleep in the building with the girls instead. He turns to Su Mucheng and tells her that if he was her, he wouldn't be able to bear it. He tells Ye Xiu that the walk so that he gets some exercise, while Ye Xiu goes to bed.

He comes over to Ye Xiu to ask whom Ye Xiu was introducing him to when he hears his name used. He hears that Lu Hanwen might be similar to him and do anything to win, which leads to Wei Chen feel deeply moved and say that he has a bright future ahead of him.

He hears that Deception agrees to come over to Happy Internet Cafe, even though he just met with them. He found it hard to believe how straightforward Deception was about joining, and asked if there will be any problems. He curses when he hears Ye Xiu say that he left Deception with Wei Chen's name to contact. Although he wasn't scared, of a fight, in reality, he looks around Happy Internet Cafe for a weapon but doesn't find anything. He decides to put cans inside a bag and firmly carries them in his hand.

Since Mo Fan, Deception, arrived at Happy Internet Cafe, not a single Wild Boss spawned; thus, leaving Wei Chen in a very bad mood while looking hostilely at Deception. He tells Mo Fan to come with them, fiercely, since it is time for breakfast. They go to rest, and the next day, they hear that six Wild Bosses had spawned while they slept, which made Wei Chen give Mo Fan a hateful look.

After Luo Ji and An Wenyi arrive at Happy Internet Cafe, the team, with Su Mucheng, go out to eat. They arrive at the restaurant, and when the drinks come out, he shifts his gaze over to Ye Xiu and says that someone is about to embarrass themselves. After hearing Qiao Yifan and Ye Xiu say that they are not a drinker, he pats Bao Rongxing on the shoulder, telling him that he's definitely a drinker. After hearing Bao Rongxing will drink, he asks who else will drink. He looks directly at An Wenyi and Luo Ji, and after hearing how much Luo Ji can drink, he looks at him, with disdain, followed by calling him, "weak". He tells everyone that they still need to practice tonight, so they shouldn't get too drunk, then orders a case. His face turns pale when he hears that a case is 24 bottles, and asks if a case really case 24 bottles. He gets interrupted Ye Xiu, and the two go back and forth a bit before Wei Chen says that where he came from, a case is 12 bottles. Everyone erupts into laughter realizing Wei Chen made a joke, so he lights up a cigarette, and tells everyone a story of his past. The beer arrives, and the majority is consumed by Wei Chen, An Wenyi and Bao Rongxing who were averaging 6 bottles each. He sighs after complimenting An Wenyi on the amount that he can drink. Bao Rongxing tells him that they are all out, so he makes a joke that he is calling for another case. He becomes speechless after seeing Luo Ji laying wasted on the table, and says that they will drink more next time when the losers are gone. They go back to their living arrangement and set up how the rooms will be distributed, with Wei Chen and Ye Xiu sharing a room.

The two go to their room, and Wei Chen hands Ye Xiu a cigarette. Ye Xiu tells him to try, and see if Tyranny will accept him so that they have an old people team. He sighs, and says that he's old enough already; additionally, he can't struggle like he did before. He asks Ye Xiu why didn't he try returning to the Pro Alliance, at the end of the year, since it wouldn't be difficult for him to return because he kept his condition in good standings. He tells Ye Xiu that he can't stop worrying and tells Ye Xiu that even though he has all that money, happiness cannot be bought. Ye Xiu asks Wei Chen suggests Wei Chen to hire some hitmen to take out Excellent Era, so Wei Chen mentions that he knows some people, but then says he's just kidding. He gives Ye Xiu his analysis of the players on the team and hears that Wang Jiexi invited Tang Rou to try out for Tiny Herb. He becomes astonished when he hears that Tang Rou was doing unskilled labor when she first came to Happy Internet Cafe and continues his astonishment when he hears that Ye Xiu ran away from home. He didn't continue pestering Ye Xiu about why he ran away from home, so he continues to give his analysis. When Mo Fan is mentioned and says that Ye Xiu just mentioning him, makes him want to punch Mo Fan. They continue to talk about the other players on the team, then decide to go to sleep. Before they officially go to sleep, Wei Chen asks Ye Xiu if Chen Guo is considered an official player for the team. He hears that she isn't, then goes to sleep.

He wakes up early the next morning and wakes up Ye Xiu. He shouts at Ye Xiu, telling him that they need to work on everyone's practice plan. He keeps yelling at Ye Xiu, telling him that he needs to be more rigorous, and the pace of the training needs to go up. Ye Xiu tells him that he can just do it and flips over, but Wei Chen roars telling him to get up and tells Su Mucheng and Qiao Yifan to come into the room. He tells Ye Xiu that as pioneers from the early days, using the game as practice, then asks what type of practice did they go at the club. He tells Ye Xiu that he doesn't know any of the practice methods used by clubs so he needs to hurry up and tell him, all of them. The two discuss it for a while and came up with creative ideas.

At the practice room, the two are playing together, testing out the practice when Chen Guo comes into the room. He tells Chen Guo that, hopefully, by the end of the day, the practice routines will be done. At 7:00 P.M., they distribute the document called, "Team Happy's Practice Routine". Once a week passed, Ye Xiu and Wei Chen completed the class-specific practices for everyone, and then explained it to everyone.

After Little Ming leaves, Wei Chen tells, and asks, Ye Xiu why did he tell Little Ming that they are playing for themselves, and not the fans. After hearing Ye Xiu's reasoning, and that it was directed at the team, Wei Chen chimes in by saying what Ye Xiu said is correct. This quickly turns into an argument between Wei Chen and Ye Xiu where they mention their past win records, but this puts Wei Chen at a disadvantage. The situation turns serious again, but quickly becomes banter between the two.

Chen Guo decides to hold a meeting, one day, and Wei Chen wants to know what does she want. When they get to the meeting place, he notices that there are enough seats for everyone, but forgets that one seat is for Mo Fan and not Su Mucheng. He shouts that Chen Guo is trying to create discord in the group, but when he hears that the seat is for Mo Fan, he says that it's normal for him not to be here since he's not a team member. When Su Mucheng leaves, Wei Chen looks, and smiles, at Chen Guo and tells her to say what she wants to say since it doesn't matter if Mo Fan is there, and if he shows up, it will ruin her mood. Ye Xiu asks everyone if they smell that, and says that it smells like a dog kissing up to its owner, which makes everyone laugh. He then shouts at everyone, telling them that they're in a meeting, and should take it seriously. He hears what Chen Guo says, then says that it won't be a problem for him since when he used to be on the scene, he received all sorts of insults and curses. He hears Bao Rongxing who says that they can just show their middle finger back at them, and says that it won't be a problem for Bao Rongxing either. He praises Tang Rou, who says it'll be more fun like that and asks Qiao Yifan.

Wei Chen watches the battles against Excellent Era's trainees, during Happy Internet Cafe's free internet event. While Tang Rou is facing Demon Fighter, who is Qiu Fei, he says that today's opponent has a background. He turns his head to look at Ye Xiu, whose face is dumbly looking at the screen and asks him what is he looking at. He asks Ye Xiu if he thinks that Demon Fighter is a different player. Puzzled, he asks Ye Xiu his reasoning behind thinking that the first two matches were the same person, and this one is a different player. He becomes astonished when he hears Ye Xiu says that he knows this person.

He later faces off against Li Rui, multiple times, and toys with him by always beating him, with a sliver of health left. After Li Rui leaves the room, Wei Chen asks for the next person to come up, and face him.

On the second day of the Challenger League, his face shows a sour mood when he see's that their next opponent is Everlasting. Ye Xiu looks for VOD's of Everlasting's previous performances, and Wei Chen goes over to Ye Xiu to discuss the material. After dinner, everyone gathers for a meeting about what Wei Chen and Ye Xiu had found. One day after the meeting, he hears that Everlasting has come to meet with them, and calls to Bao Rongxing to join him in dealing with them. He asks Ye Xiu if he needs him to come with him, but when he hears he's not needed, tells Ye Xiu to call him over if anything happens.

On the day of the match of Happy versus Everlasting, Wei Chen makes an appearance against the Warlock Leopold, in the third match of the Individual Competition. When the match begins, Wei Chen casts a Chaotic Rain at the opponent, which catches him by surprise. He follows up Chaotic Rain with another attack which forces Leopold into a corner. At that moment, he casts Curse Arrow, after charging it for a bit. The two Curse Arrows collide, so Wei Chen uses Death's Door while utilizing the screen made by the two Curse Arrows colliding. While Leopold is held by the tentacles from Death's Door, Wei Chen starts casting multiple Warlock curses and skills at Leopold. Leopold eventually falls into the water, and Wei Chen chases after him in the water. After a bit, Leopold's corpse surfaces, displaying the victory to Wei Chen.

Wei Chen later appears in the Team Competition against Everlasting when he enters the field, replacing An Wenyi. He begins to chant the spell for Death's Door while announcing to Everlasting that he will open a door for them. After Death's Door explodes, he joins the other members, of Happy, in dealing damage onto Everlasting until they all die. He celebrates with the team afterward since they beat Everlasting 8.5 to 1.

The next day, he is introduced, by Chen Guo, to Chang Xian, a reporter for eSports weekly. Seeing that Chang Xian is lost, he introduces himself further by mentioning that he is the former captain of Blue Rain and the first user of Swoksaar. While Chang Xian hears that Ye Xiu has been playing Glory for 10 years, Wei Chen cuts in, asking what's so impressive of that since he's been playing for 10 years as well. Chang Xian asks Wei Chen to give him a story to use, and Wei Chen begins talking about Ye Qiu. He starts saying that the reason why Ye Qiu never appeared, in the public's eye, is because he's too shameless and despicable. He get's lost in thought while reaching his hand out to Ye Xiu, asking him to give him a cigarette. His deed's get exposed by Chen Guo and Wei Chen retaliates that he's just trying to make the interview more interesting.
